My Armpits...What?

Alright. Listen. There have been some weird things that I've dealt with since my surgery. Things I never thought would be affected were. Some have come back (like I can now shower alone and dry my hair, although it is ridiculous how hard it is!), but some things have not changed and may never. For example, my right breast where my cancer was, so lymph nodes on the right were removed, which are located up in the armpit area. The surgeon had to cut a nerve to get one of the lymph nodes. So my upper right arm, armpit, and surrounding area are completely numb and sometimes the back of my arm gets really painful.

But the weirdest thing?? Putting on deodorant and being completely unable to feel it rolling on my skin! I can't feel the wetness or the touch! It's SO weird!

Okay. So it isn't the weirdest thing. I had never heard of lymphedema before, but it prevents me from doing certain things. Weirdest thing is that I can no longer shave my right armpit. What the heck! My physical therapist told me to channel my inner European and get used to it. LOL.

But...it isn't so bad, right? At least I can use deodorant, even if I can't feel it. LOL. :)
