I'm feeling a little nostalgic tonight and am thinking a lot about my parents. My mom and dad are truly the most wonderful people and parents I could ever have been blessed with. They have always been with me every step of the way -- my entire life! My mom and dad have always supported and encouraged me. I've been lucky to have parents who are truly invested in my life. They truly want the best for me and will help me in any way to make my every wish come true.
Since Lucy has been born, life has been very different in our house. As we were adjusting to two kids, we never imagined that this cancer bomb would be dropped on us. My parents have been just as devastated as me and Jerry have been. But they have also helped us SO much. My mom has gone to almost every single appointment and my dad has watched Dean and/or Lucy whenever I have needed it. They have helped wash dishes, clean, fold clothes, etc. Anything that has needed to be done has been covered with their help (along with a number of others too!). I have always made a conscious choice to include my parents in my daily life. And my kids are SO lucky to get to grow up close to them like I got to do with my grandparents.
I'm not sure how I could ever express to them how thankful I am to have them as my parents. I know they KNOW how I feel, but I can't help but feel this overflowing of love for them lately. I just am blessed. And I want everyone to know how grateful I am!! I love you, Mom and Dad. THANK YOU.
