Hi all! I just wanted to give a quick update. My surgery went really well from what I understand. My surgeon and care team were amazing. They all took such great care of me and I really felt comfortable while I was in the hospital. I came home yesterday evening and was able to get settled in. It's comical how many pillows I have around me to make me comfortable. It's a good thing Jerry and I have so many pillows around the house!! :) I have had a few moments where I realize how my body has changed, but it has been okay so far. I imagine it will be more emotional over the next few days. For now, we're working on managing my pain and keeping me comfortable.
I am SO thankful for my family and friends that have been SO helpful this week. I am not sure there will ever be a way to truly express my gratitude that will really convey how truly thankful I really am. I appreciate all of your love, kind words, and prayers. I am also very glad that I have decided to share my experience. I have really been comforted by all of the support I have received. It has really made this experience a little easier for me and for my family. Thank you!
I really miss my babies. I am on "light duty" right now and cannot do a whole lot with them. Luckily Dean has been very kind and gentle. He wants to give me lots of hugs and kisses. He keeps checking on my owwie. He is so sweet! I can't do much with Lucy right now, but was able to hold her and feed her a bottle this morning. It was awesome! But I can't do much before she needs someone else that can move a little easier. This will pass quickly and I'll be back to normal soon I hope!
Thank you all for being a part of this journey with me!
